Hi Everyone,

I wanted to share a quick project with you. I found these great panels which make a quick and versatile skirt to wear year round! Lightweight denim, embroidered and crinkled, you just add the seams!

I used two panels, with the elasticized portion at the top.

1. Simply pin the panels to fit at the waist and hip with the panels inside out on your body.

2. Create the desired amount of fullness at the bottom as you pin.

3. Sew where you have pinned.

4. Trim excess fabric at seams and finish seams as desired.

5. Add elastic at waist.

6. Serge finish hem as I did, or turn up and stitch.

Each panel measures:

27” width flat at top (elasticized portion, and will stretch to 45” )

44” width at hem edge (relaxed)

35” in length (shorten at top or bottom- remember to allow for hem and elastic casing)

I made the Taffy Top from my À La Mode Pattern Line with a knit fabric to wear with the skirt. Here is a picture of a dress that was made for a girl with one panel. I also thought a jacket might be fun, with the sleeves and bottom of jacket sporting the elasticized section. Let your imagination go.
