San Francisco sewing expert Sandra Betzina, uses Ban-Rol stretch elastic almost exclusively in her elastic waistbands. She cuts the elastic based on her waist measurement minus 4 in. and feeds it through a casing. After sewing several parallel rows of top-stitching through the fabric casing and elastic, what looks like separate rows of elastic fed through casings is actually one complete band that does not roll, crush, or curl.
Available in: 1", 1 1/2" & 2" widths
NOTE: Both 1" and 2" widths have been discontinued by the manufacturer. Once sold out, these widths will no longer be available.
Priced and sold per yard. Order minimum is 1 yard.

Best 2" elastic
This is the best 2" elastic for waistbands. My rectangular shape really likes wider waistbands so they will stay up.

My favorite waistband elastic!
I love this elastic in my shorts and pants. I recommend it to all my sewing friends.

great product
Used it to make "a waistband that grows". Have the waistband 2" longer than the BanRol as if stitching with elastic. Will purchase more.

Ban-Rol Elastic
I LOVE this stuff for waistbands, and will now never use anything else again! It's like Goldilocks......not too stiff, not too flimsy, it's just right!

Banrol elastic
I love this elastic because it's light, strong, and very resistant to folding along its length. It's also fairly hard to find, so I like to get enough for several projects at once. To prevent the cut ends from unraveling and poking through fabric, cover with a scrap of fabric or bias tape.

Good communication and customer service, was happy to find this product, which I had heard about but had never tried, and it works great!
