Another great basic, make this shirt with the stand and collar - with just the stand - or without either! A long sleeve with standard one-button cuff is also a timeless classic you will use for many years.
Don't let the fact that this shirt uses a Collar Stand scare you!
The traditional method of attaching a collar stand can be quite a challenge - even to an experienced sewer. May the sewing gurus forgive me, but I prefer to use a facing - it's much easier to get a beautiful finished neckline - and with the traditional facing method you can make a shirt without either the stand or the collar - just a simple jewel neckline - the facings go all the way around so you get 3 shirts in 1 pattern. . What is a Shirt Club?
Shirt Club Patterns are designed so you can mix and match patterns.
All Shirts interchange at the armhole - so therefore you can mix & match ANY body and ANY sleeve.
Some shirts interchange at the neck - so therefore you could use a collar from one pattern on a different body - if the chart indicates that they are interchangeable. To compare patterns for the neck area, look for other patterns that have the same symbol/color in the Collars Column.

This is great for many reasons, but especially for the following 2 examples:

Let's say you like the V-Neck style of the Versailles Blouse, but you prefer the 3/4 sleeves on the Romantica Blouse. No Problem - just use the body of the Versailles and the Sleeves from the Romantica - they will exactly fit - no measuring - no thinking - no hoping - just cut it out, sew it up and you've created your own personal blouse pattern. Let's say you have broad shoulders and are long-waisted. Start with a basic pattern (like the Basic Long Sleeve, the Sew Simple or the Basic Short Sleeve). Make a test garment, refine the fit and alter your paper pattern. Make a note of the alterations you made - because you will make the exact same changes to all other patterns in the Shirt Club Pattern series. Measure and modify once - and sew up an entire wardrobe with no more fitting! Life is Grand!!!
