What you need to get started:

• A sweatshirt that fits you
• Several 1/4 yd. of good mix and match fabrics for appliqué
• 1 package (3 yds.) single fold bias tape to match jacket
• matching thread
• 1 yd Wonder Under or other paper-backed fusible webbing
• Buttons - to go around appliqué panels and for surface decoration
• Iron, sharp scissors and sewing machine with zigzag
• For quilt - 2 yd fabric for frame and backing and 1 yd quilt batting, fusible webbing
