A Flattering, over-the-hip version of the Panel Play Vest. Fill up the panel and back yoke with the wavy line design described in the pattern or make the panel with your own specialty or favorite technique.

Suggested Fabrics: Panel Area: Lt to Md Wt cottons, md wt silks such as pongee, broadcloth, shantung, lt wt wools. Main Body of Vest: Silks, linen, md wt cottons, velveteen, lt wt wools, md wt rayon. Foundation: muslin. Lining: Lt wt silk, polyester or rayon lining fabric.

Notions: thread, all purpose, the colors of the main body of vest, lining. Thread - decorative rayon or other topstitching, the color of the panel border. 1-6 buttons about 5/8" to 3/4" OR up to 2" button for 1. Rotary cutter, cutting mat (17" x 23" min) 6" x 24" cutting ruler. Extra fine permanent Sharpie pen. Note: For stitching on tightly woven silks, #90 Sharp Microtex machine needles are recommended. Use #100 needles for heavy weight topstitching thread.
